The Group of Eminent Persons (GEM) is a recently established high-level group
whose aim is to promote the global ban on nuclear weapons testing. Its members met in Stockholm, Sweden, on 10-11 April, 2014, where they brainstormed on how to promote the entry into force of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) together with Carl Bildt, Foreign Minister of Sweden and Lassina Zerbo, Executive Secretary of the CTBTO.
For the CTBT to enter into force, China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Egypt, India, Iran, Israel, Pakistan and the United States must still ratify.
